Middle East war driving construction cost rises in Germany

Rising prices for fuel and materials driven by the war in the Middle East are disrupting the German construction sector. The German Construction Industry Federation warns that price hikes from suppliers of products such as bitumen, a binder for asphalt, are yet to come. This may lead to project cost blowouts, particularly in fixed-price contracts with the public sector.
