Nepal lodges protest against India over long-running border dispute

Nepal has lodged a protest against India over the resumption of a religious pilgrimage through the Lipulekh Pass. The pass is contested by Nepal, which claims it as part of its territory based on the 1816 Treaty of Sugauli. India's Ministry of External Affairs asserts that Lipulekh has been used for the Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage since 1954, stating that such claims are not justified or based on historical facts.
