Nepal protests Kailash Mansarovar Yatra route via Lipulekh

Nepal has objected to India and China's plan to conduct the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Lipulekh Pass, claiming that the territory belongs to Kathmandu under the 1816 Sugauli Treaty. Nepal's Foreign Ministry stated that Kathmandu was not consulted before finalising the route for the pilgrimage and reiterated its stand that Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani are its inseparable territories. Nepal has also requested India not to conduct activities in the area and has informed China about its objections.
