NIA court orders framing of charges against 26 PFI leaders for seeking to establish caliphate

A Delhi court has ordered the framing of charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and various Indian Penal Code provisions against 26 accused members of the banned Popular Front of India. The court observed that there is grave suspicion of a conspiracy to overthrow the Indian government and establish an Islamic caliphate. Charges have also been framed against the PFI, described as a juristic person capable of committing offences. The accused have been summoned to appear before the court on July 10 for formal framing of charges.
