No relaxation in IIT admission 75% Class 12 marks rule: Joint Admission Board

The Joint Admission Board has clarified that there will be no change in the minimum 75% marks criterion for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology through JEE Advanced 2026. The board cited the participation of candidates from 36 different school boards as the reason for not lowering the eligibility criteria. The board is in close touch with the Central Board of Secondary Education to resolve issues for affected candidates. The eligibility criteria will remain in place despite demands for relaxation due to delays in CBSE exam results.
