On delimitation and Parliament seats | Explained

The Union government introduced the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill to increase the maximum number of Lok Sabha seats from 550 to 850. It also introduced a Bill to set up the Delimitation Commission. The Constitution Amendment Bill was defeated in the Lok Sabha, leading to the withdrawal of the Delimitation Bill by the government.
