OpenAI could be making a phone with AI agents replacing apps

Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that OpenAI is working on a smartphone in collaboration with MediaTek, Qualcomm, and Luxshare. The smartphone would develop a chip with MediaTek and Qualcomm, with Luxshare as a co-design and manufacturing partner. OpenAI's smartphone could rely on AI agents to complete tasks, allowing the company to use AI in features without restrictions, and gain access to more user data.
