V. Vijaya Prabhakaran, son of late actor-politician Vijayakant, is a DMDK candidate in Virudhunagar Assembly constituency. He had narrowly missed going to the Lok Sabha previously. In an interview, he stated that the decision to join the DMK was taken due to the party's rank and file wanting it.
