Posts use fabricated design for new Malaysian ID to push anti-Chinese claims

Malaysia's government has refuted social media posts claiming the national ID card will no longer include a photograph of the holder, which is required by law. A purported image of the new identity card design, featuring the Malaysian coat of arms and digital thumbprint, was shared on Facebook, but the government has not released any official images of the upgraded document. The claims are deemed false by Malaysia's National Registration Department.
