Report: Humanitarian situation in Colombia in 2025 was worst of decade

The humanitarian situation in Colombia was at its worst level in a decade in 2025, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross. The Red Cross documented 965 people killed or injured by explosive devices, a 34% increase from the previous year. Disappearances related to conflict doubled to 308, and alleged violations of international humanitarian law reached 845 cases. Over 235,000 people were forced to leave their homes, with many communities exposed to heightened dangers due to armed clashes in populated areas.
