Rwandan genocide suspect Félicien Kabuga dies in UN custody

Felicien Kabuga, a wealthy Rwandan businessman, has died in detention in The Hague. He was facing charges of genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide, incitement to genocide, and crimes against humanity. Kabuga was accused of financing and arming the Hutu militia Interahamwe, which carried out much of the killing of Tutsi and moderate Hutu in 1994. He was also accused of playing a leading role in the genocide-inciting broadcaster RTLM. Kabuga denied the charges, describing them as "lies." An investigation into the circumstances of his death has been launched.
