Security ramped up as Tamil Nadu goes to polls; battle for 234 seats

Electronic voting machines were dispatched to polling stations under tight security, while flying squads stepped up vigil to prevent last-minute cash distribution. Paramilitary forces and police personnel have been deployed to guard polling stations statewide. In some areas, ballot units were moved to remote polling booths, including one in Varusanadu where EVMs were carried on horseback due to lack of motorable access.
