Taiwan President arrives in Eswatini after blaming China for cancellation of prior trip

Taiwan President Lai Ching-te has arrived in Eswatini in southern Africa, having blamed China for the forced cancellation of a prior trip. Lai made the comment in a Facebook post after the government accused China of pressuring three African states to block overflight permission for the president. Taiwan's presidential aircraft had its flight permits revoked by Seychelles, Mauritius, and Madagascar, prompting the trip to Eswatini, one of Taiwan's diplomatic allies.
