Tamil Nadu election 2026: Ponneri constituency residents yet to reap benefits of industrial development

The Ponneri Assembly constituency in Tiruvallur district comprises 100 villages, with a majority of the population being from the fishing community. The constituency has several big industries, including three power generating stations in and around Minjur. Despite the presence of these industries, residents have not benefited from employment opportunities or projects created from Corporation Social Responsibility funds distributed by the corporations.
