Telangana: 16 dead due to suspected heatstroke

At least 16 people have died due to suspected heatstroke across seven districts in Telangana this summer season. Temperatures in the state have exceeded 45°C, with several places recording more than 45 degrees Celsius. The state government has announced an ex-gratia of 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased and directed officials to expedite the compensation process. District administrations have been instructed to identify mandals and villages recording extreme temperatures and issue advance warnings to residents.
