The Light Within | Ep 5 – El Salvador

A state of emergency in El Salvador has led to the detention of young women connected to gangs MS-13 and Barrio 18. Many are taken into custody in large-scale operations aimed at regaining control of communities. Inside a prison, women from rival groups share a cell and are guided by the prison director. They engage in daily routines, structured activities, and open discussions about their pasts, channeling their dreams into improvised rap verses.
