Love Insurance Kompany began as a project titled SK17 in 2018 under Lyca Productions with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead and directed by Vignesh Shivan. The story was set in 2040 and focused on a unique system controlling relationships. Differences over script changes led to the director stepping away and the film being put on hold. The project was later revived with a new production team and Pradeep in the lead before its release in 2026.
