T.N. launches third synchronised Nilgiri Tahr survey across Western Ghats

The Tamil Nadu Forest Department is conducting the third synchronised survey of the Nilgiri Tahr from April 24 to 27. The survey covers the species' entire range across the State and is being carried out in coordination with the Kerala Forest Department to ensure simultaneous counting across the Western Ghats' shared landscape. This approach prevents duplication of counts and provides a more accurate estimate of the population.
