TRAI pushes for tech that enables real-time accident alerts, traffic monitoring

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper on vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology, which enables vehicles to exchange data with each other, traffic signals, and cellular networks in real time. This technology aims to improve road safety and reduce road fatalities by warning drivers of impending collisions and traffic violations. It also optimises signal timing and enables dynamic route management to cut congestion and fuel use.
