Tamil Nadu assembly elections 2026 results have thrown a surprise as actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) is leading or has won 130 seats in the 234 member assembly. The incumbent DMK alliance has 42 leads and wins, while the NDA has 56 wins and leads. Vijay is poised to become the state's next chief minister, the first non-DMK non-AIADMK Tamil Nadu chief minister since 1967. His path to victory went through a host of welfare promises.
