VB-GRAMG Act to replace MGNREGA starting July 1

The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) is being replaced by the Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), (VB-GRAMG) law. VB-GRAMG guarantees up to 125 days of paid unskilled manual work per rural household per year, an increase of 25 days from the previous law. The new law changes the funding model, with the Central government determining a state-wise normative allocation and cost-sharing following a 60:40 formula between the Centre and states
