Ravi Shastri conducted the toss for the Mumbai Indians' clash against the Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. During his introductory speech, he momentarily forgot the name of the Super Kings' skipper, but later mentioned it. Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya and the skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, both had smiles on their faces seeing a rare blip from Shastri.
