Wild peacocks bring delight, despair to Italian village

Dozens of peacocks have colonised a seaside village in Italy, Punta Marina, on the Adriatic Sea coast in the Emilia Romagna region. The birds, with their iridescent trains, perch on rooftops and fences, infuriating human residents with their spring mating season screams. The once-revered creatures are now seen as a nuisance, disrupting sleep, traffic, and cleanliness, with some residents fearing they will deter tourists. Others, however, see the peacocks as "something magic" and a symbol of the village's charm.
