PM Modi writes to parties, seeks support on women's quota bills

BJP seeks opposition backing for women's reservation bills in Lok Sabha and assemblies. The bills aim to earmark a third of the seats for women from 2029. To pass the constitutional amendment, BJP requires a two-thirds majority in Parliament, which it cannot achieve alone. The government plans to push for passage of the bills during the ongoing session, starting April 16.
