A Nomad Lion Wanders into Masai Mara Lionesses—And Pays the Price

Lionesses in a pride are fiercely territorial and protective of their space and young. When a male lion, known as a nomad, wanders into the pride's area, the lionesses will challenge him. In a video shot in Masai Mara National Reserve, four lionesses attack a male lion, forcing him to retreat. The lionesses are content to return to their day once the male has learned his lesson, showing their protective nature. Lionesses work together to raise cubs and defend their territory from other lions.
