Himanta Biswa Sarma elected party leader for second time, to be sworn-in as Assam CM on May 12

Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to take charge as Assam's chief minister for a second term after being elected the leader of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in the state. He will take oath along with the new Council of Ministers on May 12. Sarma has claimed to have the support of 102 MLAs of the NDA who have been elected in the polls. His appointment paves the way for him to be appointed as chief minister of the state for a second time.
