After 18 months of mourning, a Gaza son is found alive in an Israeli prison

A Palestinian family from Gaza believed their eldest son, Eid Nael Abu Shaar, was dead for 18 months after he went missing while searching for work near the Netzarim Corridor. The family searched hospitals and morgues, obtained a death certificate and erected a mourning tent, but a lawyer's phone call revealed he was alive and being held in Israel. Eid's family had reached out to the International Committee of the Red Cross and human rights groups for help, but were met with dead ends.
