All Maharashtra council candidates to be elected unopposed after Congress opts out

Maharashtra legislative council candidates are set to be elected unopposed as only a proportionate number of candidates from main political parties filed nominations. The Congress party decided not to contest the election after a meeting with senior leaders. The BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP have fielded candidates for the 10 seats, with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi contesting only one seat
