Apple fixes bug that cops used to extract deleted chat messages from iPhones

Apple released a software update for iPhones and iPads to fix a bug that allowed law enforcement to extract deleted or automatically disappeared messages from messaging apps. The bug occurred because notifications displaying the messages' content were cached on the device for up to a month. Apple backported the fix to iPhone and iPad owners running older iOS 18 software
