Bengal scales down security for politicians and officials after protection review

The West Bengal government has scaled down security arrangements for several political leaders, former officials, and prominent individuals. House guards have been withdrawn and police presence reduced after a review of threat perceptions. Those whose security cover has been reduced include Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee, former minister Arup Biswas, and others. They will now receive only the protection corresponding to their present constitutional or official status.
