Blistering heat and soaring UV, humidity levels put Kerala on its toes

Residents in Kerala are experiencing uncomfortable conditions due to blistering heat, soaring UV levels, and oppressive humidity. Temperatures have crossed the 40˚C mark in Palakkad and are hovering around heatwave threshold levels in many stations, especially in Punalur and Palakkad. Coastal regions in north Kerala are also experiencing sultry conditions due to unusually high relative humidity, driving the 'feels-like' temperature high.
