Bypolls: 58% turnout in Pawar bastion Baramati

Bypolls to Maharashtra's Baramati, Rahuri, and Gujarat's Umreth assembly constituencies recorded voter turnouts of 58.17%, 55.87%, and 59.04% respectively. The elections were necessitated by the deaths of sitting MLAs. Baramati has been a stronghold of the Pawar family for over six decades, with Sharad Pawar winning the seat six times and Ajit Pawar winning it eight times. The bypolls saw a one-sided contest in Baramati and direct contests in Rahuri and Umreth.
