Centre sanctions over Rs 947 crore for relief, rehabilitation of Manipur violence victims

The Union Home Ministry has sanctioned over Rs 947 crore for relief and rehabilitation of nearly 59,000 people displaced by Manipur's ethnic violence. The funds will be used for resettlement, housing, and restoring normalcy. Rs 424.36 crore has been approved for relief camps and Rs 523 crore for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons. The violence has resulted in 217 deaths and widespread damage to private and government properties.
