Centre, West Bengal sign MoU for PM SHRI schools initiative

The Union ministry of education signed a memorandum of understanding with the West Bengal government to implement the PM SHRI Schools initiative in the state. This marks a change from the previous administration's resistance to the scheme. The initiative aims to transform existing schools into model institutions of excellence, aligned with the National Education Policy 2020. West Bengal is now on board, with Kerala and Tamil Nadu remaining the only two states yet to sign the MoU for the scheme.
