CM Stalin tenders resignation: DMK sources

DMK President M K Stalin has resigned as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister after the party's defeat in Assembly polls. The resignation letter has been forwarded to the office of the state Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. DMK has emerged as the principal opposition party after winning 59 seats in the 234-member strong TN Assembly, while TVK has won 108 seats and is the single largest party. DMK will function as a robust opposition party.
