Construction of new solar power plants in Germany slowing

Construction of new solar power plants in Germany is slowing down. Fewer new solar power systems are being built, with newly installed capacity down year-on-year. The decline is particularly sharp in the residential sector, with peak capacity in the home segment dropping by 21%. Commercial rooftop segment and balcony power plants also show signs of slowing down, but ground-mounted systems are experiencing strong growth. The German Solar Industry Association warns against further cuts to subsidies, citing the recent energy crisis as a reason for increased demand.
