Covering candidate buttons with glue, ink, perfume to fall under EVM tampering: ECI sources

The Election Commission of India has issued directives to presiding officers at polling booths regarding tampering with Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) buttons. Officials are asked to ensure candidate buttons are clearly visible and not covered with tape, glue, or other materials. Chemicals, including colour, ink, or perfume, cannot be used on the buttons to reveal vote secrecy, and such incidents will be considered EVM tampering.
