Daughter of former Uzbek president facing trial in Switzerland over money laundering

Gulnara Karimova, daughter of former Uzbek President Islam Karimov, is facing a trial in absentia in Switzerland for alleged bribery and money laundering involving assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars. She is accused of developing and running a crime ring known as "The Office" and depositing funds of criminal origin in Switzerland and abroad. Karimova is currently serving a sentence in Uzbekistan and her presence in the Swiss courtroom is considered virtually impossible.
