EC orders repoll at 285 stations in West Bengal's Falta on May 21 over ‘severe electoral offences’

The Election Commission has ordered a repoll at 285 polling stations in West Bengal's Falta constituency on May 21. This decision was made due to severe electoral offences and subversion of the democratic process during polling on April 29. The EC received complaints of alleged tampering and observed that the poll process was vitiated in several polling stations. Repolls were also held in 15 polling stations in Magrahat Paschim and Diamond Harbour, with a voter turnout of 86.9% recorded till 5 pm.
