Eleven arrested in coordinated op. targeting alleged protection racket in central Israel

Lahav 433, in cooperation with the Southern District police and Border Police, led a year-long undercover investigation into an alleged protection racket targeting contractors at construction sites in Rishon LeZion. The suspects, many from the Bedouin town of Hura, are accused of extortion, aggravated offenses, and money laundering, allegedly operating under the guise of providing legitimate security services. Police established a front construction company to gather evidence and arrested 11 suspects in a coordinated operation.
