Flew from Bangkok with drugs worth ₹12 crore, arrested in Mumbai: How a beauty contest runner-up was caught

A 29-year-old woman, an employee of a private bank and runner-up in a beauty contest, was arrested at the Mumbai airport by Customs for allegedly smuggling hydroponic weed into India from Bangkok. She landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport from Bangkok on the intervening night of June 10-11. Customs officials stopped her after becoming suspicious of her behaviour during routine checking and found 12 vacuum-sealed packets containing a green substance, confirmed to be high-grade hydroponic marijuana.
