From railways to energy — five strategic projects linking Gulf states

Gulf leaders gathered in Riyadh for their first in-person meeting since the US-Israel war with Iran. They discussed expediting longstanding joint projects under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which include transport, energy, water security, and defence initiatives. These projects aim to deepen economic ties and strengthen collective resilience among Gulf states. The GCC railway project, a 2,117km rail network, is one of the region's most ambitious infrastructure plans, designed to connect all six member states.
