Fuel retailers losing Rs20/litre on petrol, Rs100 on diesel as Iran war drags on

Fuel retailers are incurring losses of ₹20 per litre on petrol and ₹100 a litre on diesel due to state-run firms holding pump rates despite oil price volatility. Oil refiners expect to partially pass on revenue losses to consumers if international oil price volatility continues. Benchmark crude oil Brent has surged to $101.91 a barrel, with oil marketing companies incurring under-recoveries on petrol and diesel.
