German pharmacies decline as sector warns of underfunding

Pharmacies in Germany continue to decline, reaching an all-time low. According to data released by the German Pharmacists' Association, there were 16,541 pharmacies nationwide at the end of March, 60 fewer than at the start of the year. The decline is attributed to chronic underfunding of pharmacies, with the sector calling for an increase in a fixed dispensing fee. The supply of medicine to the public remains secure, but the trend is expected to continue unless addressed.
