Hacked educational platform partially restored for millions of students

An educational platform, Canvas, used by thousands of schools and universities worldwide, has been partially restored after an international cyberattack. The hacking group ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for crashing the platform, stealing 3.5 terabytes of data, and threatening to release it unless a ransom was paid. The platform is now available for most users, but some institutions, including the University of Sydney and the University of Alberta, report reduced functionality.
