‘Harvest more water; banning paddy is not the solution to groundwater stress’

The Ground Water Department and State-level committee on Groundwater Resource Assessment must study ways to enhance groundwater recharge and testing methods to quantify the annual harvest. They aim to increase public awareness. Banning a crop is not considered a solution to groundwater stress, as per the Secretary of Irrigation & Command Area Development.
