Himanta Biswa Sarma takes oath as Assam Chief Minister, four MLAs also sworn in as ministers

Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as Assam Chief Minister for the second consecutive term, making him the first non-Congress Chief Minister to do so in the state. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya in Guwahati, in the presence of several BJP and NDA leaders. Four other MLAs, including Rameswar Teli, Ajanta Neog, Atul Bora, and Charan Boro, were also sworn in as ministers. The Council of Ministers is expected to be expanded later this month.
