Indian Railways approves Rs 1.53 lakh crore projects for expansion

Indian Railways has approved a total investment of Rs 1.53 lakh crore for 100 new projects covering over 6,000 kilometres of railway network. The expansion aims to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, boost freight capacity and support economic growth across India. The projects include new lines, doubling and multitracking works, bypass lines, flyovers and chord lines, strategically aimed at decongesting saturated routes and enhancing passenger experience.
