India-US trade talks to begin in Washington today, Trump's tariffs in focus

India and the US are set to hold high-stakes trade negotiations in Washington from April 20-22. The talks aim to finalise the first phase of a proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement. A 12-member Indian delegation will engage with US counterparts, led by chief negotiator Darpan Jain, in the first in-person talks since October 2025.
