Jimenez and Quinones net as Mexico beat South Africa in World Cup opener

Mexico kicked off the World Cup with a dominant 2-0 victory over South Africa at the Estadio Azteca. The hosts took the lead on nine minutes through Julian Quinones, who drilled a low shot past South Africa's goalkeeper Ronwen Williams. South Africa finished with nine men after Sphephelo Sithole and Themba Zwane were sent off for disciplinary reasons. Raul Jimenez added a second goal for Mexico in the 67th minute, nodding home a cross from Roberto Alvarado.
